A Dance Production: Maargam : A path way for union with the self

Involved in this Dance production are members and friends of SIM : Mathiarasi, Shanjini and Sara Shamini.

A short summary on the dance production:

Each dance piece in Indian classical dance is considered as a step in the dancer's lifelong journey to realise himself or herself. The central theme of Maarga is the awareness of the body and its usage as an instrument of expression. The mental journey of the artiste is set in a temple where the silent sculptures spring to life and the progression from the conventional to the unorthodox is visualised.

The girls are staging the Dance Maargam as part of their class exam project for their final year. It would be great if we could provide moral support by attending the production. For those who are interested, the meeting point will be at City Hall control station. Please do contact Niran @ 98520208 on any queries on directions to the venue.

Following are the details of the Dance Production:

Date : 23rd May 2009

Venue : The Substation
( Located at City Hall opposite SMU)

Ticket Price : S$25/each

Please do contact Mathiarasi at 93446159 or Shanjini at 81633464 for purchasing of tickets or for any enquiries on the dance production
